Out of the rut goal for 2012

I’ve been thinking I need to set a goal for this year to help get this ole wagon movin on over. Since I never did come up with my One Goal now is as good a time as any.

My goal, or our goal really, will be to have one family fun adventure each month. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive, or crazy, but it does need to be something other than our usual movie, playing games, etc

Our first adventure was a trip to the zoo. It was the most beautiful spring day, in the middle of Jan. The crowds were small, the animals were out and the kids had a blast. Trapp loved seeing the pandas, even though they were sleeping, and the small mammal house. The baby really loved the fence around the elephants. Apparently babies are not nearly as impressed by elephants walking around as they are by a steel cable and chicken wire. Marshall liked hearing the lion roar, which he did a lot. I loved the tigers and the butterfly house (sorry Aunt Jodie, but I did!). Trapp and the baby thought the butterflies were pretty cool too.

It was a great start to our year of adventures. We learned a couple of things, like always pack snacks, enjoyed the great outdoors and had a fantastic family day. Can’t wait to see what the year will bring.
